Use the technology the website actually needs.
SiteDiet grew from a simple observation: many small-business websites are carrying considerably more technology than their job requires.
Not anti-WordPress
WordPress is an excellent platform when a website genuinely needs a content management system, database, e-commerce functionality or more complex integrations. SiteDiet is not about removing WordPress simply because it is WordPress. We look at what the website actually needs to do and choose the approach that makes sense. For a largely static business website, a lightweight conversion may remove unnecessary complexity. For a site that genuinely benefits from WordPress, optimisation may be the better answer. The goal is appropriate technology - not choosing sides.
Light without compromise
A lighter website should not mean a lesser website. Performance matters, but so do design, accessibility, useful content, search visibility and the experience of the people actually using the site. Our aim is to remove unnecessary technical weight without removing the things that give a website its value or personality. Where we convert or optimise a site, we preserve what is working and concentrate on the parts that are creating needless complexity. Faster and simpler are worthwhile goals, but only when the finished website still does everything the business and its customers need it to do.
Plain English
You should not need to become a developer to understand what is happening to your own website. SiteDiet explains the important decisions in straightforward language - what we have found, what we recommend, what will change and why we think it is worthwhile. Technical detail is available when it matters, but we do not use jargon to make a simple idea sound complicated. The aim is to give clients enough information to feel confident about the process and make informed decisions, while we take care of the technical work happening behind the scenes.
Lighter websites. Brighter businesses.
Clearer technology, carefully chosen.
